The story begins with JR Norman—who he is, what shaped him, and why he became obsessed with understanding the world. As he tries to make sense of his experience, he discovers a pattern: there are two forces at work in the world:

THE REAL is everything that is good, true, and right. It is reality as it actually is—not merely as we perceive it. This is what we expect, or at least hope, the world should be like.

But there is another force at work in our lives that pushes back against THE REAL—it  distorts and distracts us from reality. He simply calls this THE FORCE.

THE FORCE includes everything that is almost true, everything that feels good without actually being good, and everything that pulls us away from reality. It appears in deception, pride, hypocrisy, greed, and countless everyday distortions that quietly shape how we see ourselves and the world. But THE FORCE also encompasses everything that should not be, including evil, violence, death, and darkness.

JR asks questions that most do not think about asking:
